Applications PLC Sydney is recruiting a Residential Tutor for our specialized Winter School program located in Jindabyne in Term 3. This unique residential position offers the opportunity to support 10 - 12 students who are combining academic studies with intensive snow sports training. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive academic support, including tutoring across all subjects for Years 7 - 10, with a particular focus on Mathematics (Stage 4 & 5). Responsibilities: - Deliver targeted academic tutoring and assistance across all subjects (Years 7 - 10)
- Provide specialized support in Stage 4 & 5 Mathematics, with a strong understanding of Year 10 Mathematics highly desirable
- Supervise student well-being and maintain a positive residential environment
- Contributing to and monitoring household duties, including meal preparation and general upkeep
- Transport students to and from training sessions, ensuring their safety and punctuality
What you need: - Experience in academic tutoring or teaching (Years 7 -10)
- Strong understanding of Stage 4 & 5 Mathematics, with Year 10 Mathematics expertise highly desirable
- Valid full driver's license and demonstrated confidence driving on alpine roads
- Experience in residential supervision and student well-being support
- Ability to manage household duties effectively
A Typical Day: - 6am: Drop students at the Perisher Ski Tube for their training. Afterwards, either return home and complete house duties, or enjoy some free time skiing or snowboarding.
- 3pm: Collect students and return home
- 4 - 7pm: Start school day and assist with dinner
- 8 - 9pm: Evening studies
This is a live-in position with one designated week off (1 - 7 September). Accommodation, food, transport and season lift pass for Perisher included. You will be required to support the Christian ethos of the College. You will need to provide a Working With Children Check Clearance Number and date of birth.
